Branch Experience Design & Prototyping

Optimizing the Rollout of a Consistent Branch Experience

Momentum’s Prototype Handbook helps credit unions and community banks achieve their branch objectives through a deliberate translation of their vision for member and staff experience into standardized design elements.

A well-conceived branch prototype will ensure credit unions deliver consistent, relevant, and on-brand experiences to their market by nurturing team alignment and quicker decision making.

How We Do It

Aligning Around a Shared Vision and Goals

The key function of a branch prototype is creating consistency across the branch network. This begins by creating consistency among your team. This is why we kick off every project with an alignment session, a meeting focused on uncovering and prioritizing the requirements and objectives of each stakeholder, and organizing them in a way that guides every project participant towards a common goal.

At the end of this process we have not only aligned our team to your organization and goals, but also your team has gained a better understanding of what is important to one another.

Developing a Great Branch Experience

Experiences are the holistic sum of your customers’ interactions with and perceptions of your organization. From depositing a check in the app, to the lending officer who helped them buy their first home, to including how they look at your branch when they’re walking through the neighborhood.

We recognize that your goal isn’t simply to build or renovate a branch, but rather to deliver an experience that activates your brand. It also supports and engages your employees while building deeper relationships with your customers.

This is why we put so much emphasis on developing your team’s vision and goals for your project. The branches we design and build are a physical manifestation of the experience you want to deliver.

Using a Prototype Handbook to Streamline Design

Our Prototype Handbooks enable a more efficient and consistent rollout of multiple branches. All of the up-front conceptual work is captured in a set of design guidelines, a branch network strategy, and a kit-of-part matrix that form a ground truth for your branches. Not only does a Prototype Handbook give a starting off point for delivering consecutive branches, it also enables the translation of your branch experience to different operational models.

It's not uncommon for our clients to build new branches in completely different markets such as an urban walkable branch and a rural financial hub serving a large area. You may be best served by a universal associate model in the former, but high-volume teller lines in the latter. By including these strategies in the development of a Prototype Handbook it becomes much easier to deliver a consistent experience across these diverse branches.
