Press Release - TUSCALOOSA TEACHERS CREDIT UNION HEADQUARTERS, NEW BRANCHES ARE UNDERWAY

Tuscaloosa, Alabama (November 3, 2014) –Board Members and the President of Tuscaloosa Teachers Credit Union (TTCU) gathered on a recent sunny afternoon for the groundbreaking ceremony of their new 12,000 square feet headquarters.  After the ceremony, the TTCU Board Members and President reviewed highlights of the plans and construction documents for their future headquarters building (see Image I). TTCU is embarking on an ambitious facilities expansion and enhancement program in the greater Tuscaloosa market that also involves the renovation of their Northport branch and a new prototype retail branch on Highway 69 South.

“We are excited to have been involved from the beginning in the research, planning and implementation of a program that included branch network strategy and design for long range operations and occupancy growth for TTCU,” said Bob Saunders, Executive Vice-President at Momentum, a national plan-design-build firm.

All three projects are currently under construction as part of a strategy for TTCU to gain financial efficiencies and attract additional market awareness for the Credit Union. Momentum is managing the talents of local trades and vendors for the development of the buildings and providing the design resources for both the operations center (see Image II) and the retail branches.  Saunders further explained, “Our retail designers have focused on enhancing opportunities for member engagement and showcasing the innovative products, services and technology that the Credit Union offers to their members and communities.”

Credit Union President, Greg Sassaman, reflected on the strategy that went in to planning for the new operations center.  “The operations component of the program will address long-range growth strategies and space requirements for TTCU. Momentum's team worked closely with TTCU to focus on details such as technology and furniture integration that are designed to provide overall improvements in communication, collaboration and workplace effectiveness. A key benefit of the new headquarters is that it will enhance staff training capabilities, and improve staff retention and recruitment opportunities while also providing a physical workplace environment that is truly optimized in its features and offerings.”
