Corvallis, Oregon (June 23, 2015) – Oregon State Credit Union broke ground on their new 62,000 square foot operations center on May 22. The Credit Union’s board of directors, supervisory committee and President, along with the Mayor of Corvallis and Momentum senior staff, gathered to celebrate this historical moment for the Credit Union.
Credit Union Board Chair Nadine Davison kicked off the ceremony saying, “(The new operations center) will provide the efficiency that we always dreamed of.” Davison further emphasized that the operations center will continue to demonstrate the Credit Union’s unwavering commitment to being an integral part of their community and to providing unsurpassed services to its members, wherever they are.
“This operations center is another example of forward thinking. The building will serve generations of Credit Union members, even 20-30 years from now,” said Rick Hein, Oregon State Credit Union President and CEO. “We are happy to have Momentum, a local Northwest company, as our partner.”
Jim Haack, Momentum President, reflected on the moment, “I was taught that patience is a virtue. Days like this are a terrific example of what we do. What we partner with the credit union on is about stakeholders not about shareholders.” Haack thanked Hein, the Credit Union leadership team and the board for their vision and commitment to planning, “It is a coronation for us but it is really a beginning for you.”
Corvallis Mayor Biff Traber commended the expansion of the Credit Union as “an example of a local business that is succeeding in particular because it is a foundational financial institution that makes the city’s economy grow, by helping businesses and people with their financial needs.”
Hein reiterated the organization’s commitment to the city of Corvallis in his closing statement, “Corvallis is where we started and this is where we’ll operate from.”
